Far from only being suitable for making furniture, wood has certain design characteristics that make it amenable to designing lamps. The company founder and visionary, Miha, combined his electrical know-how and his passion for woodworking to create a business that makes wooden lamps under the Zajc Lights brand name.

Although an electrical installer by trade, Miha has always been passionate about creating and designing using the medium of wood. He first found an outlet for his love of wood by making wooden airplane and ship models, later moving on to create furniture, which he used to furnish his home. He used his woodworking skills to make an original sofa, a kitchen counter, and shelves for his living-room.
As part of his profession, he regularly installed very expensive lamps; however, he always found the quality lacking. He then decided to try his hand at making his own out of wood. The idea was very well received by his family and friends and he soon installed the first lamps in his home kitchen and dining room where they can still be admired by guests.
